Being The "Chief Recruiting Officer"

with Sloan Dean, CEO, Remington Hospitality

Today we're learning from Sloan Dean on why he’s so focused on recruiting - and specifically recruiting other leaders passionate about recruiting as well. A few excerpts from our conversation:

Being “Chief Recruiting Officer”: “Go and get a best-in-class person…you recruit that person…and they will be the ‘CEO’ of that department.”

Looking for other passionate recruiters: “Just like how passionate and emotional I am about the storytelling of ‘Where passionate people thrive’ - I’m looking for someone that - whatever their leadership position is - they're going to do the same thing for their department.”

Get out of their way: “I continue to advocate for them in the budget process for resources, but they’re mini-CEOs, and you just get out of their way. I will never be a Beverage and Food leader like Rich Garcia. That's why I hired him.”
