Swissôtel Hotels & ResortsThe hotel chain Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of Swissôtel Goa, in India in the first quarter of 2013.

The new hotel will be located in the city of Calangute, one of the most popular travel destinations in Goa, just 16 kilometers from the capital, Panaji and 1 hour from the international airport of Goa.

135 rooms and suites will host guests in the new resort. Distributed in eight buildings and three floors, the hotel will also have a 24-hour restaurant, cafeteria, pool bar, gym, adult and children’s pools as well as a facility for conferences and banquets.

Goa is a former Portuguese administrated region and is India’s smallest state with a population of approximately 1.5 million.

According to the President of Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, Meinhard Huck, “with Swissôtel Goa, we are complementing the growth of our portfolio in India with an attractive vacation resort. With out already opened Swissôtel Kolkata and the Swissôtels currently under construction in Mumbai, Noida and Bangalore, our portfolio in the sub-continent India is continuously growing”.
