Plus: Self-guided art tours at Resorts World Las Vegas

Hospitality Daily is a non-boring summary of stories for busy people who want to get better each day at providing hospitality.

Partnerships to provide guests with exclusive access

Partnerships enable hotels to provide some of the most unique experiences and amenities that I love to feature in this newsletter. Rom Loman, senior vice president of operations at Ocean City, Maryland-based Real Hospitality Group, said his company, which has more than 90 hotels in its portfolio, including many independents, has thinned out its partnerships to keep the ones with the most return on investment. The common thread on these high-ROI relationships? They provide exclusive offerings.

“If you can find partnerships that have exclusive agreements … it makes it so much easier to market. If [we] can offer to you as a guest something exclusive that nobody else can for that product or that experience, I think it gives [us] a little bit of an edge. That’s really what [we’re] looking for,” he said.

Self-guided art tours at Resorts World Las Vegas

Resorts World Las Vegas is home to a diverse collection of modern and historical art, something guests of the new resort can explore on a self-guided tour of the property.

Using their cellphones to scan QR codes placed near the pieces, guests learn about each work's creation and the artist - such as "Donuts," by South Korean ceramicist Jaeyong Kim:

"Our team took a unique approach when curating the art program for Resorts World Las Vegas, selecting pieces not just to stick to a theme, but rather choosing the most interactive, intriguing artwork that would add an exciting element to the overall resort experience," said Kara Siffermann, Resorts World Las Vegas vice president of design and construction.
